HAPCOA Proudly Remembers 9/11 on Its 25th Anniversary

On this solemn 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, the Hispanic American Police Command Officers Association (HAPCOA) remembers the nearly 3,000 innocent lives taken during one of the darkest days in our nation’s history. We hold close the families, survivors, and communities whose lives were forever changed by this tragedy.

We pay special tribute to the courageous first responders and law enforcement officers who answered the call without hesitation. While others fled to safety, they ran toward danger—guided by duty, courage, and an unwavering commitment to protect and save others. Many made the ultimate sacrifice, and countless others continue to bear the physical and emotional burdens of their service.

HAPCOA proudly recognizes its current, former, and retired members who played critical leadership and operational roles in responding to the attacks and safeguarding the communities they served. We also honor today’s law enforcement leaders and officers who continue that noble mission with courage, compassion, and resolve.

May we never take for granted the sacrifice of our fallen heroes, the strength of their families, or the service of those who continue to stand watch over our communities. Their courage remains a lasting reminder of what it means to serve something greater than oneself.
