(Washington, DC) HAPCOA’s National Board Ambassador at Large, Alejandro Zunca, was awarded the Community Leader Award by the Salvadorian American Chamber of Commerce during its 2024 End-of-Year Dinner in Washington, DC. The theme of this year’s dinner was “An Evening to Honor Unity, Diversity, and Achievement”.
Alex Zunca, directs HAPCOA’s International “Faith & Blue” and humanitarian efforts in Latin America. To date, Alex has been able to send full-sized shipping containers loaded with donated medical supplies and equipment to Guatemala (2), El Salvador (3), Peru (1), Bolivia (1), Honduras (1), and the Dominican Republic (2). This was made possible with support provided to him by the HAPCOA National Capital Region Chapter and the HAPCOA Dominican Republic Chapter. Alex is also recognized for his untiring efforts working with the Maryland Governor’s Office of Community Initiatives to help provide Maryland residents with free wheelchairs, hospital beds, walkers, crutches, canes, lift chairs and toilet seats.
Last year HAPCOA recognized and awarded Alex Zunca with its Bronze Medal of Community Service. Congratulations Alex on a job well done!
