HAPCOA Member Named to Maryland Hall of Heroes

HAPCOA’s International Ambassador At Large, Alex Zunca was named to the Maryland Hall of Heroes. This distinction honors the outstanding contributions of Hispanic individuals who have made a lasting impact on Maryland’s communities, economy, and culture. Through leadership, service, and innovation, these trailblazers have enriched Maryland’s diverse landscape, inspiring future generations. Alex Zunca leads HAPCOA’s International efforts in support of the National Faith and Blue program. HAPCOA is the only law enforcement association that is working with Spanish speaking community church, the business community and the state’s Office of Secretary of State. Together, they all work to gather much need medical supplies, and equipment, then after the items are cleaned and refurbished. Overseas Churches, with a nexus to the US community churches, are identified and local contacts join in to ship containers of items for much needed distribution. To date, Alex and his team (to include the Hispanic Officers Law Enforcement Association), have shipped several containers full of supplies to El Salvador, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Peru, Bolivia and the Dominican Republic.
