HAPCOA NCR Chapter participates in 17th Annual Christmas Basket giveaway
Hispanic American Police Command Officers Association, Hispanic National Law Enforcement Association, United Black Police Officers Association and the Association of Police Attaches of Latin America partnered with local leaders as well as area businesses on December 15, 2017 to assist needy families during the holiday season. The event was held at La Chiquita’s Restaurant in Langley Park, Maryland. 1200 food baskets, toys and bicycles were distributed to the community. The annual partnership collects food and toys for local families in need. Association law enforcement members, community leaders and volunteers banded together in order to make this event a great success. In addition, Staff from Maryland Governor Larry Hogan’s Office were on hand to present HNLEA with a Governor’s Citation for all the work in our community.
Present were Prince Georges County Council Member Deni Taveras who sponsored the bags. Deputy Secretary of State, Luis Borunda, State delegate Carlo Sanchez, Aisha Braveboy, candidate for State’s Attorney for Prince George’s County 2018 and Lorena G. Rivera, Director of Hispanic Affairs Governor’s Office and Rich Rosa, National 1st Vice President of HAPCOA. Captain Joe Perez, Prince Georges County Police Department and President of the HAPCOA National Capitol Region Chapter is recognized for his untiring support of this holiday effort!
