HAPCOA Panama Chapter Member Appointed Vice Minister of Security

(Panama City)  On Monday, May 16, 2016, President Juan Carlos Varela of Panama named HAPCOA member Alexis Bethancourt as the next Vice Minister of Security for the Country of Panama.

Minister Bethancourt, previously served as the National Director of the UAF (Unidad de Analisis Financiero) since 2014.  Minister Bethancourt also has over 23 years of service within the Panamanian National Police where he served as the Director of Interpol Panama and also served as the liaison officer with the United States with respect to the security of Panama Canal in 1999.  Minister Bethancourt was one of the first new members of the HAPCOA Panama Chapter in 2014.

The HAPCOA National Board and the HAPCOA Panama Chapter recognize and applaud Minister Bethancourt for his leadership and professionalism and wishes him the best of luck in his new position.
